BAUHAUS

I just spent my afternoon in the Victorian state Libary reading about the Bauhaus movement.
It is actually amazing and so inspiring this bunch of brilliant german artists who create a school for young artists to learn experiment and most of all create. It had never been done before, creative freedom in education and not only were they facing the conservative years of the 20's (starting in 1919 and sadly finished in 1933) but they where educating when the Nazi's came into power obviosuly Hilter being Hitler the school was forced to close and they pretty much lost majority of their amazing work. But just seeing some of the stu these kids designed just makes my mind explode..It was the fricken 1920's and its just mind blowing!

"Students wore specially deisgned collarless jackets and woman students wore trousers and all had the same 'functional' hairstyle. Purism did not prevent us from enjoying parties where we would wear metallic or geometric mask's and dance to the syncopated ryhymes of the Bauhaus band " Kurt Kranz
